Hey bunnies!
I’m super excited because I’m finally going on a well-deserved vacation! It’s only for a few days, but I’ve been so stressed, that I’ll take whatever I can get! I’ll be going to the beach with my family and boyfriend, and I thought I’d do a quick post to share the cruelty free beauty products I’ll be taking with me.
Pre-Beach
- I’ll be getting my tan on with vegan self tanner from Beautisol. Sunless tanner doesn’t provide sun protection, but it will keep my white skin from blinding airplane pilots who happen to be passing by. I don’t want to cause any crashes. Seriously though, it will make me feel more confident in my bathing suit – I’ll looks slimmer (I need all the help I can get) and it will cover up any discoloration on my skin.
- I’ll be using a pre-shampoo hair oil treatment to give my locks some moisture ammo before I hit that salt water and chlorine. I am using Shanti Aromatic Hair Oil from Au Naturel Ayurveda. It’s made with Ayurvedic extracts, herbs and essential oils.”
- I’ll use the LUSH Stepping Stone sea salt foot scrub to get my feet looking sandal-ready. It has lemon and lime oils to absorb odor and sea salt and fine pumice to scrub away dead skin. Note that this stuff is crumbly – more of a solid version of a scrub than a pumice stone (even though it LOOKS like it would be a pumice stone)!
- As I’m typing this post, I’m also applying Milani Neon nail polish in Awesome Orange. Where else can you wear bright orange nail polish if not to the beach?
At the Beach:
- Andalou Naturals makes a great Oil-Free Moisturizer – perfect for combination to oily skin, or for any skin type in hot, humid weather. It’s made with fruit stem cells, acai and white tea to repair and prevent sun damage. It also has a a certified organic blend of Aronia Berry, Bearberry, Bilberry, Black Elderberry, Goji Berry, Rosehips Berry and Sea Buckthorn Berry. It also contains aloe vera to soothe sun-damage. The product is gel/cream hybrid that mattifies and tames oily skin.
- Of course I wouldn’t forget the sunscreen. My favorite is Dermalogica Oil Free Matte SPF 30. It’s a light, broad spectrum (UVA and UVB protection) oil-free sunscreen. It made with safe ingredients and it mattifies, so you don’t look like a grease pit. And it protects your skin without causing acne flare ups. Very important for combination or oily skin. You can even mix it with your foundation for everyday wear.
After the Beach:
- I’m bringing LATHER Muscle Ease because I am there to RELAX and spending days upon days at the computer has made my muscles sore and whiny. This product is amazing – like a natural, cruelty free version of Icy Hot that is also good for your skin. Great for headache-sufferers like myself. And in the event that I get a little too much sun, this will soothe it.
- Since I’ll be getting a little darker (even with sun protection), I’ll be bringing a darker shade of mineral makeup from Youngblood. Normally I use the Natural Mineral Foundation in Ivory, but I’ll be bringing Soft Beige with me.
- I’ll definitely bring my Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eyeliner and Amazonian Clay Waterproof Cream Eyeshadow with me. Even if I’m not in the water, it’s going to be humid this time of year. I love the staying power and beautiful colors.
I’ll probably bring clothes and junk too, but I think we can all agree that this is the important stuff!

Nice selections. We all know the sun can be a bit harsh to our skin, not to mention, how the saltwater from the sea can also be as harsh. It’s great that you’re prepping for it meticulously. Sometimes, when I’m in a rush, I only bring sunscreen and moisturizer. I even forget to bring any makeup. LOL. What shade do you have for the Amazonian clay waterproof eyeliner and eyeshadow? I know they have a variety of fun colors. 🙂

I have all of them I believe – I like the light colors for all-over and the darker ones for lining the eye. 🙂
