The cold weather can really take its toll on your looks, but with a bit of primping and you’ll start to feel better than ever. It’s amazing what an extra hour in bed can do to revitalize your complexion. It doesn’t take much to revamp your appearance, so here’s how to achieve a beautiful winter glow.
Eat Healthy
To maintain healthy skin throughout the winter months it’s essential to eat a well-balanced diet. Foods high in vitamins and minerals will help fight off any nasty illnesses and keep you strong throughout the chilly weather. Opt for hearty vegetable soups or casseroles at dinner time and drink plenty of water to rid your body of toxins.
Exercise
When it’s dark outside you might not feel like going to the gym, but you can always go for a brisk morning walk. There’s nothing better than taking a stroll on a crisp winter’s day, so wrap up warm and get your heart racing. Exercise releases happy hormones called endorphins which can help you feel great and improve your skin. A decent session on the treadmill or a jog outside will also make you sweat and this will help unblock pores.
Exfoliate
If you want super soft skin in time for summer, it’s essential to exfoliate. Simply choose your favourite body scrub and rub the gentle sugar scrub all over your body. This will not only get rid of dead skin cells but it will increase your circulation leaving you feeling fresh and ready to hit the dance floor. Skin can often dry up in the winter, so pay particular attention to rough areas and you’ll surely see the benefits. If you really want to treat yourself you could always opt for a course of microdermabrasion, a non-clinical procedure that will deeply exfoliate the top layer of your skin.
Use Sunblock
Believe it or not, it’s a good idea to wear sunblock even in winter, so buy a foundation or moisturizer with at least SPF 15 or higher. It might not be as hot as the summer months; however, you should still protect your skin against harmful rays. This should help slow down the aging process and will stop you burning unexpectedly during a sunny, but cold day.
Choose the Right Makeup
Wearing the right makeup can really compliment your look and improve your skin tone. So, when the weather’s cold, why not decorate your eyes with warm shades such as chocolate, mocha, olive and caramel? Keep your blush simple but make sure you choose a color than will put a bit of life into your cheeks. A bright lipstick can help you look ravishing when there’s snow on the ground, so start experimenting with different products.
Winter’s just around the corner, so spend some time looking after yourself and you’ll soon feel a million dollars.

I was wearing the wrong kind of make up for my face for soooo long. Once I realized the kind I needed, it was like I had a complete makeover.
