Great news! WEN® Hair and Body Care by Chaz Dean, the sales record-breaking line founded by renowned celebrity hairstylist Chaz Dean, has been approved by The Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics’ (CCIC) for the organization’s Leaping Bunny Program, a distinction that recognizes companies for their cruelty-free practices. The all-natural, holistic haircare brand will now join over 500 companies that have already committed to eliminating all new animal testing from their products.
Chaz Dean, a true pioneer of the green movement, has been a longtime and dedicated advocate for engaging compassionate, cruelty-free, ethical practices to shape his brand and company operations.
“It is an honor to be recognized by the CCIC for a cause that I hold so dear to me,” stated Dean. “As a devout animal lover myself, it is my heartfelt belief that ethical testing and practices should be a cornerstone of every company’s philosophy, and I am proud to be counted among the ranks of over 500 companies in the Leaping Bunny Program who share my commitment to advocating the compassionate treatment of animals.”
The CCIC’s Leaping Bunny Program administers a cruelty-free standard and the internationally recognized Leaping Bunny Logo for companies producing cosmetic, personal care, and household products in the United States and Canada. The Leaping Bunny Program provides the best assurance that no new animal testing is used in any phase of product development by the company, its laboratories, or suppliers
“We are very happy to add WEN® Hair and Body Care by Chaz Dean to our list of cruelty-free companies,” states CCIC Communications Manager, Kim Paschen. “By joining the Leaping Bunny Program, WEN® has taken a clear stance against animal testing. We look forward to working with Chaz and his team to get the word out about his great products and the importance of cruelty-free shopping.”
Companies certified through the Leaping Bunny Program make a voluntary pledge to clear animal testing from all stages of product development. The company’s ingredient suppliers make the same pledge and the result is a product guaranteed to be 100 percent free of new animal testing. All Leaping Bunny companies must be open to independent audits, and commitments are renewed on an annual basis.
Since 1996, the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics has been connecting compassionate consumers with cruelty-free companies. The CCIC is made up of the following organizations: American Anti-Vivisection Society; Animal Alliance of Canada; Beauty Without Cruelty, USA; Doris Day Animal League; Humane Society of Canada; The Humane Society of the United States; and the New England Anti-Vivisection Society. CCIC’s international partner is the European Coalition to End Animal Experiments.

Love it! I’ll definitely check out these products. I wish more well-known brands would follow suit. Great example to set, Chaz Dean!

I have been using WEN by Chaz Dean for approximately 5 years now – even before I made the choice to go cruelty free. This is a wonderful product and is worth the price. My only recommendation would be to take the time to do the research on the product and how it is used so that you are not disappointed.
I have used the Sweet Almond Mint, Fig, Lavender, Pomegranate and the White Gardenia – recommend them all! For my hair (naturally curly, colored red) I find the styling gel to be to soft so I use another product for that however, I use the Finishing Treatment Creme every day and find that a holding spray is not needed all the time.
Again, this is a wonderful product and should be tried.

I really enjoy watching him on the… HSN? I really wish they would include the cruelty free fact when they’re on-air!

Great product but too costly – you have to use alot and its just outrageously expensive – 16 oz size gives you 10 washes (16 pumps per wash) at $29 plus s/h – seriously?
