Cruelty Free Mineral Eyeshadow
It’s so hard to dip into a fresh new pan of makeup sometimes, ya know? But…as a beauty blogger sometimes you gotta admire quickly and then dive right in, which is exactly what I did when I received the Youngblood Cosmetics Perfect Pair Mineral Eyeshadow Duos sets. Gorgeous in the pan, but even more gorgeous when applied.
For those of you that don’t know, Youngblood Cosmetics is a luxury, cruelty free makeup line that specializes in mineral cosmetics. They have a huge range of products from loose foundation powders, liquid foundations, creme blushes, mascaras and more! I’ve only had experience with loose mineral makeup before and was interested to see how pressed pans would work in comparison, because honestly, pressed makeup is sometimes just easier to work with and less messy!
The Perfect Pair Mineral Eyeshadow Duos come in four different color coordinated combinations making it guess-proof, and more bang for your buck. Although these were considered part of their “Holiday” collection, these colors speak to me year round. They can be applied both wet or dry for a bold or soft look, you know, whatever your fancy is at the moment.
I typically use long handled sponge or velour tipped eyeshadow brushes to apply all shadows, they just make things easier for me rather than “brush” styles. I only use a “brush” style to blend, blend, blend after I apply everything. I love how these shadows applied smoothly, without crumbling on me, and applied silky smooth. I don’t have to worry about them falling apart in the pan, and experienced no fall out when I wore them for a night out of music and tacos, or when I was checking out amazing carved pumpkins at a event in LA called Rise of the JackOLanterns.
Desire: Consists of Pink Rose, a light matte pink, and Iris, a satiny darker purple for crease work. I was immediately drawn to this pink and purple combo because I always feel purple shadows looked good on my eyes.
Charismatic: Is a combo of English Tea, a matte chocolate brown and Calla Lilly, and shimmery pink-peach champagne color that looks great swept over the entire lid. I found this duo actually to be the most flattering on my eyes for a natural look and can see this becoming an easy “go to” duo for day to day wear.
Virtue: Pure, a brightening white shadow with no chalkiness and Passionate, a shimmery golden, maroon color. I have a bit of difficulty finding use for white shadow so if anyone can enlighten me how to use white in a flattering way by all means share! It applies beautifully, but I think this is a combo that I’m a little clueless how to use well.
Graceful: Azure, a satiny, colbalt blue paired with apricot, a shimmery peachy gold that has more POW POW to it than you’d think in the pan! This blue is perfect for a deep, sexy smoky blue eye, rather than the typical brown or black.
Overall, I love the pairing of the colors together with the exception of the white shadow which I clearly don’t know how to use well. The quality and long-lasting wear of these shadows speak for themselves and bravo to having no fall out at all!

I’d love to try these!! They’re so pretty!!!! Depending on what I’m wearing, I’ll sometimes use a stark shimmery white shadow to highlight under the brow. It would also be fun to try blending it into the cranberry for a highlighter color to create interest.
