100% Pure Mascara Review

I have an ongoing love affair with many mascaras at a time. I can never seem to get enough to try and am always trying to figure out which works best for me. 100% Pure’s Fruit Pigmented Mascara landed on my desk and I was more than eager to try this brand since I’ve heard such lovely things about them. What I love about 100% Pure is that all their formulas are  toxin free, and aim to be the most healthy cosmetics you put on your face. They are also cruelty free!

The packaging for the mascara is made from beautifully printed post-consumer recycled cardboard, and the actual tube of product is very sleek and stylish in itself. I was pleased to find the brush stays fairly “clean” when you pull it out of the tube and isn’t completely covered in excess product. I always felt like so much product is wasted when you have to wipe most of it off the brush and it cannot be put back in. That way you know you will get to use as much of the product as possible and it isn’t going into the trash bin on a tissue.

The color I tried was Black Tea and it’s definitely a pitch black against my blue eyes that have naturally bleached tips and look thin without makeup. I found that two to three coats worked best for me and I usually wiggle a spoolie through my lashes to separate them as much as possible between coats. I would consider this formula a lengthening one more than a volumizing one which is my preference. I also liked that my eyelashes didn’t feel crunchy or dry after drying, and still felt soft to the touch which I suspect is in part to the formula using vitamins B & E to condition them.

The formula is water-resistant which works great for being smudge-free throughout the day, but does require a little more time in removing completely at night time. I would suggest using a good makeup wipe and then continuing on with your usual cleanser.

100% Percent Pure has a wide variety of products that I have my eye on and they don’t only have cosmetics – they have  hair care, and skin care for the body and face too! The Red Wine Reservatrol Face Mask is on my must-try list for sure, along with a few others–too many to list here!

Are you a fan of 100% Percent Pure? Whats your favorite product from them?

I have not tried any of 100% Pure’s makeup, just body stuff. It’s great that this one is non crunchy! I hate when that happens.

I was happy to find this in the vegan/cruelty free section but I just checked the ingredients and it contains beeswax. It’s not vegan.
