I can’t be the only girl who has dreamed of being a mermaid! It’s one of those lifelong fantasies that has carried into my 30’s and I don’t think it will ever go away. In fact, I decorated my daughter’s bedroom with a mermaid theme, so yeah, you could say it’s here to stay. If you’ve ever wanted to be a mermaid too, you’re in luck, because Becca Cosmetics released their limited edition Ocean Jewels Collection and you may grow some fins just looking at it!

Becca Cosmetics captured the beauty of seashells and underwater wonders with this soft, shimmery collection. Each color was carefully curated to work together or alone to create your own mermaid makeup look. In fact, this collection includes entirely NEW shades for you to swoon over in both the eye shadow and highlighter palette.

The Liptuitive Glow Gloss is the only lip product in the collection. If you’re looking for bold, you’re going to have to keep searching because this lip gloss is perfect for adding just a kiss of pink color to the lips with this smooth glossy gloss. It already looks SUPER pretty in the tube with tiny sparkles throughout. If you swatch it on your hand you’ll see it go from clear to a light personalized shade of pink when it reacts with the chemistry of your skin. I love that this gloss feels thin and is non-sticky. It also acts as the perfect base to grab color if you happen to dab on any of the highlighter colors on to your lips.

The Ocean Jewels Highlighter Palette features five new shades of Becca Cosmetics famous shimmer skin perfecters. No joke, I want to cover my entire face with this palette. If I could get away with taking my daughter to swim class in a full face of highlighter I would. But for the sake of keeping up normal appearances I decided to stick to a couple shades at a time, and only in spots where the light would hit first (cheekbones, brow bones, bridge of nose, and cupid’s bow…oh, and right on the lips). These highlighters apply like silk to the skin and can be layered to amp up their level of glowy-ness. These do not have glitter in them at all, just pure shimmery goodness that makes your skin look like a million bucks.

And the piece de resistance, the Ocean Jewels Eyeshadow Palette. By far, my favorite eye shadow palette to date! The palette has 7 new colors that almost bring a tear to my eye with how gorgeous they are. I’m not big on bold eyeshadow — I’m not very good at it, and it doesn’t work as a day-to-day thing for me, so these soft colors that melt and blend together are my jam! I like that they included a matte brown (Tourmaline) for me to add some small smoky smudging in so it’s not just shimmers. And Mermaid Pearl (iridescent pearl) is perfect for that inner eye corner brightening trick.

I cannot rave enough about this collection because it’s exactly what I want at the moment. Super soft, blendable colors that shimmer ever so much to catch the light without making you look like a glittery disco ball. I love glitter – but there’s a time and place for that and it’s not in the middle of the week for me. But I WOULD like to see how some of these shades would look over a very deep shade of blue or black just for fun!
