Best Cruelty Free Dermaplaning Tools
Question of the Week: Have you ever shaved your face? What did you use? What was your experience?
YES! And it’s the best! So good for facial hair removal and exfoliation. Have you ever noticed how great men’s skin looks after they shave? Same concept!
I have used many different implements to shave off that white peach fuzz as well as the darker sprouts that I’ve always had (which also start popping up more and more with age). My favorite dermaplaning device is the Stacked Skincare facial exfoliating tool. It’s a little pricy but it’s QUALITY and it works better than anything I’ve tried. I just have to be careful because it has a small guard, but I’ve still cut myself with it. The fact that the guard is super small means you get a much closer shave, but you just have to be careful. After I use it, I spritz on a little alcohol mixed with water to keep it clean. You can see my review here. I also really love Stacked Skincare’s EGF and hyaluronic acid serums (for skin renewal/turnover and hydration) and Firming Eye Complex for tightening and depuffing the undereye area.
I also like the Dermaflash kit, although it takes a little more work to use because you have to charge it and put on/take off the heads. I do like that it’s got those disposable heads, which is great for acne sufferers (I don’t need any extra bacteria thank you). I haven’t tried the new model – it may be easier to use actually.
But, honestly on a day to day basis, I use those cheap Tinkle razors because they are quick and I pretty much CANNOT hurt myself with them. They’re like safety scissors, but for your face! The hair grows back quickly when I use these though – you don’t get the closest shave. But you can easily clean up any random hairs you see while you’re doing your makeup, and then dash out the door!

I’ve only tried two devices of this type. One was a disaster and the other is my Holy Grail! But I haven’t tried any of these I’ll have to check them out.

I’ve tried, planning a few times. Unfortunately, I end up getting ingrown hairs, which is a pain in the patootie.

I’ve been shaving my face for years! I like a good, 5 blade razor or a quality dermaplane type shaver for the job.
Lola Seicento says
I have never tried this before!
Kathryne says
Yes, I do shave esp along the hairline, I don’t like those tiny hairs there
CosmetopiaDigest.com says
After chopping off half my fingertips with those tiny razors, I’ve taken to doing my upper lip with a regular disposable razor. At least my fingers are protected!
Stacie Hamilton says
I’ve used a few different tools to get rid of unwanted peach fuzz. Makeup looks better and my skin feels so much better when I dermaplane. I’m going to look into this particular tool since it sounds like a good one.
Mai says
I’ve been using those small eyebrow razors to get rid of my mustache hair and I realized that they’re actually super good for dermaplaning/getting rid of peach fuzz on the sides of my face. It’s amazing the difference it makes
Cindy Ingalls says
I have a facial/brow razor I use and it works really well for exfoliation and hair removal.
MarciaF says
My chin and upper lip drive me nuts. I was told to shave them when I was doing (unsuccessful) laser treatments and I’ve done it ever since.
Lulle says
So, I tried once, using little razors I found at my local Japanese market, and I cut myself… I think I don’t know how to use them. How are you supposed to hold the tool? So you use shaving cream?
chiefbunny says
No you don’t need shaving cream or water – just a dry shave. I hold them at an angle to my face and make short strokes. If it cut you, it could be the ones you bought were too sharp and didn’t have a guard.
