Cruelty Free Bright Makeup Looks with Pop Beauty
Pop Beauty started out a a cult favorite in London and has grown to be loved by makeup addicts around the world. Their packaging and bright colors are what’s most recognizable to me, making it a very fun brand to play around with. I usually work with softer colors but couldn’t resist playing with the pinks and purples that stood out to me from the collection before me. I am by no means a makeup expert of any sort, but enjoyed putting together these bright makeup looks for you guys using all the products below.
I’ve always been a fan of using bright pink blushes and bronzers to bring life to my cheeks and chisel out those cheekbones a bit. Highlight can be a bit tricky as I tend to want to cover my entire face with it, but it can really add a refining touch to any look with proper placement. I dusted the apples of my cheek with the brightest pink blush in the Pow Wow Powder Blush quad (top right color), and used the second to darkest bronze color in the hollows of my cheeks (bottom right color). I dusted the highlight on the highest point of my cheek bones, under the brows and heavy on the cupid’s bow using the bottom left color mostly, but dabbled into the other three just because!
My skin has been a bit oilier these days so I thought it was best to try out the Setting 101 Powder following the directions provided on the palette. I didn’t notice a color change while using these (which is good in my opinion) and didn’t make my foundation look heavy or dried out at all.
Pop Beauty has a couple eye shadow palettes, but for this look I used the Bright Delight version that had bright rainbow colors. I stuck to my comfort zone in the brights category using the hot pink in my crease and really attempted to carry it a bit higher than I usually would, and then used the two purple colors on my lids for a smokier but more colorful than usual look. I have learned that with these types of colors BLENDING is everything! Swish that brush back and forth a million times girl, you gotta bleeeennnd! I filled in my brows using the Brow Duette in Classy Brunette using an angled brush.
I followed with the Lashy Flashy Mascara in Blue Bloom because I didn’t have Purple Passion which would have really went well. Nevertheless, Blue Bloom was still pretty dark on my lashes and could only really show the color when sunlight hit it. I still love it and am a fan of colored mascaras.
To finish the look I followed with Plump Pout liquid lipstick/stain in Fuchsia Freesia – a super bright pink on me to pull the entire look together. A super comfortable lip color and applies like a dream! I use Peony Petal on more natural looking days.
Finally, I misted the whole look with the Makeup Magnet Mist to give a little bit of extra moisture and make that highlight glisten a bit more. Makeup fixing sprays are a MUST if you plan to go out and wear your makeup for more than a few hours so be sure to grab a bottle to save your look!
I could really see beauty bloggers who normally wear bright makeup looks like Emily of Haus of Hounds and Courtney of Phyrra really making use of these amazing products! They’ve got those makeup skillz we all wish we had! Check them out when you have some free time!
