Cover FX Click Sticks Highlighter Review
It’s always so fun to try out innovative new products, and these Cover FX Click Sticks definitely fit the bill! The little Click cartridges come in 24 cream foundations Cover Clicks, 6 color-correcting Correct Clicks, and 9 highlighting Enhance Clicks. You simply load any two of your favorite Clicks into your Click Stick and it becomes your customized dual-ended tool for covering, correcting, highlighting, blushing, contouring, or bronzing!
I received 6 out of the 9 Enhance Clicks in this cute silver box. From top to bottom, the swatches are Celestial, Blossom, Berry, Candlelight, Gold Dust, and Gilded. Celestial is a perfect icey highlight for my pale skin. Blossom would actually be more like a light, frosty blush on me, but it would be a beautiful highlight on anyone who is a little less ghostly. Berry would be a pretty blush on anyone with a medium complexion, and it is the least shimmering of these 6 shades. Candlelight, Gold Dust, and Gilded would be beautiful highlights on someone with darker skin, or you could bronze with them if you are lighter. Candlelight has the most shimmer of these 3 and is the most golden, Gold Dust is the lightest, and Gilded is the darkest.
To be honest, when I first started playing with them, I couldn’t understand how to load the pair of Click Sticks into the stick. What I figured out is that you take off their caps and insert them facing inward as shown here:
When they are both loaded properly, the Click Stick looks like this:
To pop one Click out, you push on the opposite end like this. Since the pressure from one Click pushes out the other, you can’t pop out both – you have to do one and then the other (which is a little bit annoying).
Overall, I think the Cover FX Click Sticks are a really interesting concept, but unfortunately they aren’t for me. They are geared more toward women who like to keep makeup in their purse to touch up with. Since I apply my makeup and home and then set with powder, I am not able to go back in and touch up cream products later on in the day. I would use the individual Click cartridges (the formula is really nice), but I find the Click Stick itself cumbersome for at-home use. However, if you travel a lot and/or like to touch up cream products throughout the day, you would probably find the Click Stick very convenient!
