Pop Beauty Plump Pout + Permanent Pout Review and Swatches
I’m always on the lookout for a cruelty free lipstick that is truly innovative, high quality, affordable, and one that I’ll actually wear. Luckily, two of the latest lines from Pop Beauty do just that.
Lip glosses aren’t usually my thing, but the Plump Pout may make me give up on my strictly matte lipstick days. This plumping lip gloss glides on smooth with a high shine finish without being sticky. Instead, it dries to almost feel like a stain, which is likely thanks to the addition of avocado and jojoba oils. The plumping peptides create a slight cooling/tingly feeling, but it’s not intense and lasts for like two seconds. It stays on all day too with a light, creamy texture that defies everything I thought a lid gloss could be.
I have these in Honey Rose, Peony Petal, and Bare Nectar. Honey Rose is initially slightly lighter than a lot of other rose shades, but it sets to a more traditional rose color that has a hint of gold undertone. Peony Petal is a darker baby pink, which would be the perfect staple find lipgloss without reminding anyone of middle school. Bare Nectar is my favorite because it’s about time that a light nude shade didn’t wash me out.
The Pop Beauty Permanent Pout line is a little more in my comfort zone, with a full coverage velvet matte “lip paint.” The first thing I noticed was that these lippies smell like watermelon, and not that candy, sugary watermelon scent. No, they smelled like fresh, juicy watermelon, so it was love as soon as I opened the tube. Even better, the coverage and texture of these liquid lipsticks are heavenly. Seriously, one layer creates the perfect coverage. They go on creamy and dry for intense staying power.
Bare Blush, Nearly Nude, and Marvelous Mauve are my favorite shades in this lineup. Each one could almost be considered a nude or at least staples in anyone’s lip color artillery. They’re each easy to wear, but can also be layered for a more intense color if need be. They’re shown slightly wet in the pic above, but they dry to a matte finish.
So, what are some of your favorite beauty discoveries? Have you tried Pop Beauty’s lip colors?
