Beauty Products that Have More than One Use

Beauty products only have one set purpose, right? Not true. Many of the beauty products you use every day also work great in other situations. You might find you can cut costs by buying double duty beauty products.

Conditioner

Conditioner isn’t just for moisturizing your hair in the shower. It’s also a great alternative if you run out of shaving cream. It’s also ideal as a hair detangler when used lightly. Some even apply it to their skin for a few minutes in the shower as an in-shower moisturizer.

Deodorant

Deodorant helps keep you smelling fresh all day. It can also keep your feet more comfortable. Prevent nasty blisters by rubbing a solid deodorant on your heels. The gel variety doesn’t work as well in this case.

Shampoo

If you don’t have makeup remover on hand, shampoo will do the trick. It’s best to use the no tears variety and check the label carefully to be sure there are no irritating agents, but as long as you’re careful around the eyes, shampoo will work. You can also use body lotion instead, but be sure to rinse your face thoroughly to avoid clogging your pores.

Vaseline

Vaseline is most commonly used to protect your lips or to prevent lipstick stains on your teeth. However, it’s also a natural lip gloss and an excellent nail cuticle treatment. You can even replace your night cream in a pinch. If you have tanned skin, vaseline also works as a highlighter.

Toothpaste

Toothpaste does wonders for your smile, but it’s also perfect for relieving an itchy mosquito bite. Just be sure to moisturize later to prevent excess redness.

Makeup Remover Wipes

Makeup remover wipes aren’t just for your face. Use them to get rid of makeup on your phone or eliminate dirt from your purse. They’ve even ideal for a quick refresher after a workout.

Hairspray

Don’t have a stain stick on hand? Grab a travel sized can of hairspray instead. Lightly spray the stain and blot until it’s gone. It might not remove all traces, but it will help remove the worst of the stain.

Clear Nail Polish

No woman should ever be without clear nail polish. It’s perfect for stopping runs in panty hose. It can also be used to prevent rust on the bottoms of cans or metal soap dishes in the shower. You can also coat costume jewelry to prevent that dreaded green stain on your skin.

The next time you use a beauty product, think twice about what else it might be used for. Odds are, most of your beauty products have multiple uses if you get creative.

Haha I’ve heard that about the deodorant, but no wonder it didn’t work me. I have to use a solid! LOL. And I totally use the conditioner for shaving and skin conditioner in the shower. I have done that for years 😀 I put Vaseline on my hands after lotion/cream. To seal it in. And I use it on my lips and eyelids and chest at night (over cream and balm). Haha I totally used to use Hairspray as a stain remover! (Though I would put hairspray on it and then throw it in the wash). I did not ever think of that for nail polish! Awesome!
