Glamsquad Came to My House to Give Me Fab Beachy Waves!

I’m finally taking a little break and going to the beach for the weekend, so I decided to try out GlamSquad, a service that brings blowouts and makeup to you! There’s a way to book online, and even more convenient – an app. You pick makeup or hair (or both), and choose your time. You can even give the stylist notes (like using cruelty free products only).

I had stylist, Vanessa, come to my apartment to give me a blow out. Since I’m going to the beach, I wanted beachy, messy waves – similar to The Weekender, but a little more undone. She did a great job! I love it!

She had everything ready – she just needed a chair, an outlet and a table. We did everything in my living room. I asked her to use my cruelty free products. I added my own leave-in conditioner, but I tried to avoid silicones/dimethicones so the waves would hold. I was instructed to have damp hair when the stylist arrived, so I washed my hair with Twist by Oliver shampoo and conditioner (which smell amazing!), then used Nuema Tangle Me Free Detangle Shield (no bad stuff – no “cones”).

Vanessa used her own blow dryer and curling iron. I asked her to use my Paul Mitchell Express Style Hot Off the Press spray to protect my hair from the heat. She commented on how amazing it smelled. It’s got a light spray – not heavy at all, which is perfect for waves or curls.

Vanessa was super sweet and easygoing. The process took about an hour. I didn’t have to get dressed (could have been in my jammies if I wanted) but I did. This is such a great service, that I will definitely be using in the future. It would be great before an event. The prices are reasonable to have someone come to your home (around $50 for a blowout and $75 for makeup), and I hate running from makeup studio to blow dry bar to getting dressed, if I need to go to a big event. This would also be a fun service for bridal parties or pre-wedding. Currently, the service is available in NYC, LA, Miami and The Hamptons.
