KKW x Kylie Review

The Lipstick League – week of 6.12.17

Question of the Week: What was your last beauty-related impulse purchase and how did it work out for you?

My last beauty impulse buy was the cruelty free Kylie Cosmetics KKW x Kylie lipstick collection. I am not a crazed Kardashian fan or anything like that, but I’m not immune to getting caught up in the frenzy of a limited release product! I should know better, but I get caught up in the hype! In this case, it turned out to be a good thing, because some of those shades KKW shades that I bought are just MADE for me! I love peachy pink shades, and I hate super-drying long-wear lipsticks, so these perfectly fit the bill.

KKW x Kylie Swatches and Review

The Kylie KKW collection came with four shades that Kim herself picked out: Kim, Kiki, Kimmie and Kimberly. The formula is creamy and not long-wearing, and can sometimes be a little patchy. As long as the color is a true nude on me, and not super light or super dark, patchiness doesn’t bother me. The creaminess and hydration was a nice change from the usual Kylie Cosmetics long wear lipsticks (which make my lips chap and bleed if I use them on a regular basis). On most occasions, I prefer creamy, but not glossy or sticky, and definitely not glittery or holographic. Those are fun sometimes, but not what I choose to wear on the daily.

KKW x Kylie Kimmie Swatch

Out of all the shades, Kimmie was my favorite, and it has had front and center real estate in my bag since I got it. I like a peachy nude that brightens up my lips a little bit since they are naturally so dark. You can see my natural lip color peeking out in the middle of my bottom lip there. It’s a little patchy, but if you’re looking at me from a reasonable distance (and not with a macro lens), you wouldn’t notice.

NOTE: Not all Lipstick League posts are cruelty free.

Beauty Junkies Unite – Amber feels like sharing is caring — so she’s giving away 10 of her favorite pink Urban Decay VICE lipsticks to one lucky winner! Go on over and get your entries in!

Blushing Noir – Even if you’re not the most tech friendly, if you have a beauty need then there is an at-home gadget for that. Check out the best-of-the-best beauty gadgets that you can use at HOME (and also order right from Amazon!).

EauMG – I answered a few questions online and was sent a custom perfume based on my preferences. Scent Box sent me a “signature scent” that smells like tangy yuzu.

fanserviced-b – I’ve got 20 first impressions of skincare and hair care products that could help save you lots of money.

Gouldylox – I can’t believe so many people are making this HUGE mistake when washing their hair!

My Beauty Bunny is getting up close and personal with the new Urban Decay Naked Heat Collection – do you need to buy it, or is it pass?

Phyrra – Everybody always asks, What is the best neutral eyeshadow palette? I’ve got the answer for you!

Prime Beauty – shows you how to get pretty summer waves with the help of the new and improved Coast Pro Professional Styling Iron!

we heart this – Hey Mister! Pixi has a collection you’re going to LOVE…
