Micro Bomb Highlighters Review and Swatches
If you are the type of person who was born to stand out and shine (you know who you are!) then you need to check out these bomb highlighters from Micro Beauty Essentials. Okay, so these vegan and cruelty free highlighters are “the bomb” but they are actually called BOMB Multi-Use Cream Highlighters and they can be used for a slight glow or an all-out solar flare highlighter explosion!
They come in a three pack of metallic gold (Spark), pink rose pearl (Flare) and duo-chrome lavender (Ignite). The packaging is something I haven’t seen before – each highlighter comes in a lip balm sized push up tube. They are very creamy and can be applied to cheeks, eyes, lips and even your body. The packaging and smaller size makes them extremely portable. You can keep them in your purse, gym bag, or travel bag for an on-the-go-glow.
Why are these smaller you ask? Well Sharon Simpson, the founder and CEO, is obsessed with travel-sized version of pretty much everything. She prefers products that minimize waste and don’t take up a lot of valuable real estate in her bag or on her bathroom counter. These highlighters are easy to apply on the go with just your fingers, so there’s actually no need for a giant palette and makeup brush. They can literally fit in your pocket. They may be small, but they are mighty – a little goes a long way.
I think minimal makeup wearers (think Glossier-style – tinted foundation and Boy Brows) will love these, but full on glam Instagram and YouTube makeup fanatics will also enjoy them. Anyone can use these, but if you have dry skin, you’ll appreciate the creamy, dewy texture.
Here are swatches of all three highlighters in direct sun and shade so you can see how they look. (L-R): Spark, Flare and Ignite. These swatches were applied heavily but you can also dab them on for a softer look. When you blend them out, you’ll find there are some very fine micro-glitter pieces.
I found that it was easiest for me to apply them directly to my skin and then blend with my fingers (you can also use a brush or beauty sponge). In the photo below I’m wearing Spark (warm metallic gold) for a natural looking highlight. You can apply these with a much heavier hand for a more “Instagram-friendly” look. I like all three colors. I think the lavender (Ignite) stands out the most for me since I have a warm, olive skin tone. Spark (gold) looks the most natural on me.
You can find these cruelty free highlighters on Micro Beauty’s website for $17 (for a three pack). Use Micro Beauty Essentials code: MYBEAUTYBUNNY to save 10%.
Would you buy these? Which color is your favorite? Micro Beauty Essentials is working on developing more mini makeup products, so stay tuned!

I think the size is perfect. I like smaller items since I go through cosmetics so slowly. If I were to see these in a store they’d be mine in minutes, those colors really attract me.

Love the pink but I feel like it would look like blush instead on me, haha! The woes of being pale. But the purple would be fun to play with!

All three are really pretty! I also prefer smaller sized products, I never, ever finish anything full size except for mascara.
