My First Sonya Dakar Rooftop Facial!
I was invited to experience a lovely cruelty free facial at the famous Sonya Dakar Skin Clinic in Beverly Hills yesterday. If you’ve ever driven down Santa Monica going through Beverly Hills, you’ve probably seen her iconic building. I have heard of Sonya and her famous clientele (Gwyneth Paltrow anyone?), but I’ve never gone to her for a facial. I met up with my friend, Claudia of I Like To Talk Blog, and we had a nice girl’s lunch at The Farm, and then headed over to Sonya Dakar in the afternoon.
The entire place is huge! There’s parking underneath the building (which is unheard of in this part of town). The third floor is where Sonya and her team treat her guests to facials and other skin treatments, and I got a quick look at the beautiful decor and treatment rooms, but for this press event, I was invited to the gorgeous rooftop.
It was cool, breezy and overcast yesterday in Los Angeles. Sonya’s team wrapped me in comfy blankets and gave me a relaxing facial using Sonya’s signature products. It was heavenly! The aesthetician, Suna, used a custom mix of Sonya’s products on me. She did several exfoliating treatments, including a scrub and peel. She applied the Volcano Mask, which has volcanic clay and probiotics. And followed that up with the Organic Omega Booster oil blend, Nano Hydrator (super lightweight moisturizer) and the Daily Shield SPF 30. Sonya’s daughter, Mimi, recommended I take home the products pictured above for best results (plus a cleanser for acneic skin not pictured).
