Vegan Skincare from The Sea
A few months back I was introduced to the vegan skincare brand, Osea Malibu; an all natural skincare line that utilizes the healing and restorative power of seaweed and algae. The entire collection from Osea Malibu is formulated without fragrances, petrochemicals, parabens, sulfates or nano-materials to give peace of mind while nourishing the skin. I was already wowed with their skin brightening products so when I was invited to try out their age-defying products I jumped at the chance.
I’m still a nursing mama so clean ingredients are important to me – while effectiveness goes hand in hand with that. I need products that keep my mid-thirties skin looking it’s best without harsh ingredients that may cause any harm to my baby girl. Right now I keep a pretty simple routine which consists of cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing, and oil treatments. Before having my kid, my skin was acne-prone and slightly oily, now my skin is on the normal/dry side with some hyperpigmentation from years of being in the California sun.
One product I’ve been using daily since receiving it is Osea Malibu Advanced Protection Cream. The cream leans on the thicker side but doesn’t feel “heavy” when applied. It feels amazing after I do my morning exfoliation to soothe any pinkness that develops after a good scrub. I give it a few minutes before applying any makeup and know that ingredients like algae extract, macadamia nut oil and avocado oil are hydrating my skin while helping fight the signs of aging. I also use this cream after I wash my face in the shower at nighttime.
When I do my skincare regimen at night I include an additional hydrating step with Osea Undaria Argan Oil. I absolutely LOVE using this roller ball oil as it applies the perfect amount of product right where I need it. Argan oil is known to deeply moisturize hair and skin, but what makes this one different is that it is infused with organic undaria algae which works to minimize scars and improve the look of aging skin and Chamomile to reduce inflammation. I primarily use this oil underneath my eyes and temples, but also occasionally apply to my forehead and the sides of my nose. Because it is an oil that takes some time to fully absorb, I would use this in the PM only so no other products are layered on top besides the Advanced Protection Cream.
Being that I used to have acne-prone skin I always wonder if a break out will crop up after using oils or heavier creams but luckily my skin has only reaped the benefits of its moisturizing and soothing abilities. My skin feels soft, it looks hydrated even though I have a heater cranking almost all day in my home, and doesn’t interfere with makeup application. I would love to pair this with Osea Brightening Serum I’ve used in the past and possibly their Ocean Cleansing Milk which sounds really nice. My skin has been loving what Osea Malibu offers and cannot get enough!

Recently OSEA sent me a lovely skin care package that I couldn’t wait to share with you! While I have just started using the products, and more in-depth reviews on each will be coming soon, I thought it would be great to post an introduction to the products and my first impressions on each one.
