My best girlfriend and I tried out Tracy Stern SALONTEA Eye Tea bags. Basically, these are large tea bags filled with organic chamomile, angelica root and witch hazel. They are designed to soothe tired eyes and reduce swelling. As my friend and I had recently over-imbibed in some, shall we say… adult beverages…and were both suffering from seasonal allergies, we needed all the relief we could get.
We put on our our Fresh umbrian clay face mask (another amazing product I might add) and then added the Eye Tea. We placed the Eye Tea bags in a mug of hot (not boiling) water, and after about four minutes, we put them on our eyes and laid back to relax. The unfortunate thing is that the warm feeling from the hot water fades very quickly, but you can dip them in the hot water and reapply.
We enjoyed the eye tea, but the price may be a bit steep for some ($16.50 for 8 tea bags). I think this would make a lovely hostess or new mom gift – the kind of thing you wouldn’t buy for yourself, but you’d be excited to try if someone gave it to you. And, the packaging is gorgeous, so you’d get additional gift-giving points for that! They also sell tub teas, which I’d love to try, and several other beauty products infused with tea and medicinal grade herbs. Their website is freakin’ adorable (I love all that Victorian/French-y stuff) – you should check it out.
