It’s a Retro Revival!

There have been times when I’ve fantasized about a woman’s life in the 1950s; The singular focus of the health of the home and family without that pesky job distracting you from cooking, cleaning and raising children. Growing up watching The Wonder Years, I always admired Kevin Arnold’s mother with her signature blonde flip, pale pink shimmery lips and a warm, empathetic smile always readily available for her family. In these moments of fantasy, I’ve always thought, I would have been really great in the 50’s!

Retro Revival sells cruelty free and handmade shower caps, aprons, retro towels, and other home goods made with a modern design but a vintage feel. Beginning with a love for vintage tablecloths and retro linens, Cindy began creating her own vision of retro inspired pieces. Remaining structurally traditional, her aprons and shower caps are created with re-envisioned retro prints adding a fun feel that is unique for women today.

I reviewed a retro shower cap with the “Pink Roses” fabric design. Since I have very thick hair, I’ve used a shower cap for many years between washes. I thought the quality of my Retro Revival shower cap was very well made and durable. It seems like it will last a long time and have the capacity to hold up even after several washes. The size of the cap was actually larger than the ones I usually use and I would guess that the size of the cap would cover even a bigger head of hair than my own. Due to the style, the edge of the shower cap comes down really low on my face which was good at protecting hair from getting wet. My only advice would be to throughly wash your face before taking a shower to ensure all make up is removed.
