Hi My Beauty Bunny readers! You may not be familiar with me but I am Arielle and I blog over at Beauty by Arielle. I want to thank Jen for allowing me to drop in today and talk about how to make your eyeshadow palettes do more for you.
I recently made a decision to simplify my life and it started by paring down my hoards of makeup. I challenged myself to only use one eyeshadow palette (blasphemy I know!). While I was searching for a well rounded palette, I realized how much more our palettes can do than just be used as, well, eyeshadow.
Many of the palettes in your collection already have shades that will work great for my three tips. If not, I suggest you look for palettes with a light shimmery shade, a matte close to your brow color and a matte brown or black. I’m using Tarte’s Limited Edition Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette as my go to.
1. If your palette has a light shimmery shade, you no longer need a powder highlighter. They work essentially the same. I use this shade to highlight in all the norms (down my nose, under my brows and on my cheek bones). I also dip my pencil brush in it and swipe a bit in my waterline to look more awake.
2. I’m a dark haired gal, so I need a deeper shade for my brows. I use this taupey shade from the palette to fill them in. Depending on your coloring, pick what works for you.
3. The only thing this palette is missing is a matte black shade but it does have brown. Matte browns and blacks work fantastic as liner. You can use an angled or pencil brush to smudge it into the lashline. You can also lightly mist your brush with water before dipping it into the shadow to make it akin to a gel liner.
What creative uses have you found for you makeup?
