Tom’s of Maine Botanically Bright Cruelty Free Toothpaste

If you have ever met me, or even seen my Instagram, you would know I’m really all about smiling! I think smiling can really make a difference in your day and in other people’s days. Even when I’m dying in spin class, my instructor always reminds the class to smile! However, the one thing that can ruin my smile is when my teeth aren’t white!
Tom’s Of Maine cruelty free toothpaste puts my stress at ease. I’ve been using the new Fluoride-Free Botanically Bright Whitening Toothpaste for over a week and I have seen a difference in my teeth brightness. A lot of my surface stains have been scrubbed away… thank the lord!
This cruelty free toothpaste is different than other whitening toothpastes because it’s made with bee propolis and xylitol. I didn’t know this, but bee propolis has soooo many benefits! It has antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory effects (source). The xylitol is meant to keep bacteria from sticking to my teeth, and I really like that.
In the past, I’ve had a really hard time using whitening toothpaste because I have somewhat sensitive teeth already and it just makes my teeth even more sensitive. The worst is when I can feel my teeth hurt when breathing in cold air. With this whitening toothpaste, I don’t encounter that problem! I am totally capable of eating anything without having to worry about my teeth hurting.
I did notice that this toothpaste isn’t as foamy as other toothpastes and I actually really loved that. I hate when I have to spit toothpaste from my mouth every thirty seconds while brushing. With Tom’s of Maine toothpaste, it created enough foam to clean my teeth but not an overbearing amount.
Also, the flavoring of the toothpaste flavor was something new for me. The peppermint flavor wasn’t as strong as I’d expect. I would brush my teeth and have hints of the peppermint flavor but wasn’t overwhelmed by the flavor. I didn’t have that “clean feeling” and was worried at first but got use to it after a few uses.
In the end, my teeth were whiter and the toothpaste didn’t make my teeth sensitive at all! I would recommend this product if you are looking for a toothpaste that won’t ruin your teeth in the long run. Overall, I really liked this product and was happy to find a product made from natural ingredients. It’s also sodium laurel sulfate (SLS) and fluoride-free (Tom’s of Maine has fluoride toothpastes as well).
