Urban Decay x Kristen Leanne Vice Lipstick Swatches and Review by popular Los Angeles beauty blogger My Beauty Bunny

Urban Decay x Kristen Leanne Vice Lipstick Review and Swatches

Urban Decay has partnered with beauty influencer Kristen Leanne on a brand spankin’ new collection. I’ll be sharing swatches and reviews on the products, starting with three of the Vice Lipsticks. There are three regular lipsticks, and three liquid lipsticks that are only available at Ulta and UrbanDecay.com (not pictured here). They are all mattes – five are comfort mattes and one is a mega matte.

The packaging for the entire collection is gorgeous. It’s all pinks and purples, with lots of fun textures and text that looks like a neon sign. The outer packaging is made from see-through pink plastic. I can tell that they spent a lot of time creating these.

Let’s take a closer look at the Vice Lipsticks ($17 each): Bun Bun, Cloud9 and Spellbound.

You can see that the first two are creamy and easy to apply, while the last one (Spellbound) is a bit patchy. If you have a darker skin tone, you could either apply it more sparingly (so it’s more sheer), or if you’re a pale girl like me, you’d probably want to use a dark lip pencil underneath.

First up is Bun Bun (comfort matte). That is Kristen’s nickname for her pet rabbit, Brixton, and I know you beauty bunnies will love that she has a bunny! This is my favorite – a neutral nude lipstick with a slightly cool tone. It’s darker than a nude on me, but definitely wearable. It reminds me of Fuel from the Naked Heat collection, but definitely cooler and slightly darker.

Next we have Cloud9 (comfort matte). It’s a bright magenta plum shade that is getting a lot of oohs and ahhs on social. I think it will be gorgeous on the right person, but it’s too bright for my personal taste. It’s a really pretty color though, and if you can pull it off, I think it will be stunning! Cloud9 is very similar to Pandemonium – see Phyrra’s review for dupe swatches.

Finally there’s Spellbound (mega matte). It’s a deep plum/wine shade, and I’m just not on board with it. You can probably see from my hand swatch and my lip swatch that it’s pretty patchy. I don’t think I look great in wine or dark shades like this, and I find them hard to work with. If you are going to rock it, I’d recommend using a dark lip pencil to get a more even look (and to prevent feathering if you have dry skin like I do at the moment).

What do you think of this Vice Lipstick review? Will you be picking one up? Stay tuned for more reviews and swatches on the Kaleidoscope Dream eyeshadow palette, Beauty Beam highlight palette, and the Daydream eyeshadow palette.

Question of the Week: New year = new beauty! What’s going to be your first purchase?

Geniabeme – Take a look at how I organize all my makeup in The Original Scrapbox Workbox 3.0. This is for crafters but I used it to display all my beauty products!

My Beauty Bunny – found the makeup mirror of her dreams and it has changed her makeup game forever!

Phyrra – I’m sharing my Top 10 Beauty Favorites of 2017. See what made my short list!

Prime Beauty – Drugstore makeup has come a long way and many brands have superior products without the high price tag. I tried several products including the new Maybelline Superstay Full Coverage 24hour Foundation to achieve complexion perfection!

Realizing Beauty – The new Tarte Chrome Paint Shadow Pots are the most gloriously metallic shadows Christa has seen in a long time. If you love a high impact shine lid colour you do not want to miss this new launch from Tarte!

we heart this – is giving Pixi by Petra some well deserved lipstick love. Who else makes an $8 lip balm with THIS much pigment?

Beautygeeks – Suffering inexplicable dehydration and stubborn dry patches on your face? Could be you’re missing a cleansing step.

Blushing Noir – What better way to start off a new year than by entering a massive GIVEAWAY! Enter here to win makeup, skincare and more! Open internationally.

(Wondering what the Lipstick League is? Find out here.)

Geniabeme is Currently Craving: I have been eyeing the Dyson hair dryer for YEARS!! I am still deciding if I want to splurge on it!!

These colors look gorgeous on you, but what a bummer that Spellbound was patchy– especially given that it is such a rich and deep vampy shade!

Thanks Allison! I think they look okay close up like this, but I don’t know if I’d wear the bold, dark shades out.

I like Bun Bun for a pretty every day kinda shade. The others are a bit too bold for me.
