5 DIY Face Masks To Try At Home
Everything you need for beautiful skin is right in your own kitchen. It’s incredibly easy to make your own face masks at home. Whether you have dry, oily or combination skin, there’s a perfect mask to make you skin look stunning.
Oily And Acne Prone Skin
All you need is three ingredients to help even out oily skin and reduce acne flair ups. This mask also tightens pores and promotes healing.
Start with 5 strawberries, 1 tablespoon of honey (organic works best) and 1/4 of a medium sized lemon. Cut up and mash strawberries into a pulp in a small bowl. Squeeze in the lemon juice from the wedge and mix in the honey until well blended. Add more honey to thicken if necessary.
Apply to your face and leave on for up to 15 minutes. Rinse well when done. Use up to twice a week.
Dry, Rough Skin
This simple mask helps moisturize and heal dry skin. It’s also ideal for mature skin to add in vital moisture.
Combine half of a mashed avocado and a quarter cup of honey. Apply to your skin and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse skin thoroughly when done. Use these 2-3 times per week.
Sensitive Skin
If you have sensitive or irritated skin (such as sunburned), this mask is ideal. It’s designed to soothe, heal and moisturize.
Combine a cup of plain yogurt with half a cup of oatmeal. Use a thicker yogurt for best results. Store leftovers in the refrigerator. Apply to skin for 10-15 minutes. Wash off with a warm cloth.
If you have oily skin, add 2-3 drops of lemon juice. For dry skin, add a tablespoon of honey to the mix.
Combination Skin
This mask is perfect for balancing combination skin. Try this mask as your roses start to wilt for an even more effective mask.
You’ll need 5-6 rose petals (which are completely optional), 2 tablespoons of rosewater, 1 tablespoon of natural yogurt, 1 tablespoon of warm honey. Mix together all ingredients. If using petals, soak them and then crush in a bowl. Apply to face and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse well when done.
Skin Brightening
This mask is good for all skin types and is used to brighten and nourish the skin. It exfoliates, hydrates and tightens pores as well.
Combine 2 pureed kiwis, 3 tablespoons of plain yogurt, 1 tablespoon of orange juice and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Apply to skin and leave on until the mixture drives on your face. Rinse thoroughly when done.
