5 Summer Beauty Must Haves For Healthy Skin

Article by Laura Jasmin.

Having glowing skin is all about planning a skincare routine that you can stick to during the summer months. But don’t worry – it’s not hard! It can easily be achieved by using quality cruelty free beauty products that give you results. The summer beauty must haves that I recommend can help you prevent sunburn, keep your skin moisturized, exfoliate your skin, and keep you acne-free. There are five cruelty free beauty essentials that you may want to consider adding to your daily skincare routine so that you can maintain healthy looking skin this summer.

Always use SPF and Prevent Dryness With A Sunset Oil

In the summer time it is important to protect your skin before and after sun exposure. Sunscreen is one of my summer beauty must haves. There are several cruelty free sunscreens that Jen recommends for your face, and you can’t go wrong with the Alba Botanica SPF 50 broad spectrum sunscreen for body (it has a convenient spray applicator). Sunset oils can help heal parched skin in the evening after that beach day or pool party. This can improve the appearance of your skin over time to a more evenly toned look. Sunset oils contain essential oils and vitamins that can help restore the skin to a natural healthy look.

Pamper Your Skin With A Rejuvenating Face Scrub

Rejuvenating face scrubs can help hydrate, soothe, repair and pamper the driest or roughest skin. Being able to maintain healthy skin with a smooth complexion can help your skin have a natural glow. Having a weekly self care routine can be good for your mental health too! A great face mask will keep your skin smooth and hydrated during the summer months.

Some of my favorite cruelty free facial scrubs are: Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub (very fine and perfect for cleaning out those pores), Emme Diane Skin Smoothing Facial Polish (gentle enough to not damage skin but cleans thoroughly and is acne safe), and MyChelle Fruit Enzyme Scrub (has fruit enzymes for an additional level of exfoliation).

Treat Your Skin With A Face Mask

Another product for clear skin on our summer beauty must haves list is a great face mask for your skin type. When your skin is clear and hydrated, it is going to look vibrant. A good cruelty free face mask can help to exfoliate, hydrate and minimize pores, which can help enhance the appearance of your skin.

Some great cruelty free face masks to try are: Juara Rose and Willowbark Purifying Mask (great for oily, combination and sensitive skin types), Bliss Pore Patrol Deep Detox Four Clay Souffle Mask (great for oily or acne prone skin and won’t dry you out), Bliss Mighty Marshmallow Brightening Mask (great for dull or dehydrated skin), and the Emme Diane Pumpkin Enzyme Mask (great exfoliating mask for all skin types).

Soothe Your Skin With Rosewater & Glycerin

Rosewater & glycerin can be very refreshing for your skin during the summer. It can be used as skin lotion or even a setting spray. With the sun’s rays are harsh, it can help provide your skin with extra hydration. During the summer we all need a little weather defense so that your skin can look healthy. When your skin looks healthy, you are going to get a confidence boost which helps you enjoy yourself more this summer.

Moisturize Your Skin

After you use a cleanser, scrub and mask, try adding some argan oil to help moisturize your skin. Using argan oil can help you relieve dry skin which can be very nourishing. With all of the antioxidants in argan oil, you can get a natural healthy glow on your skin. What I love about my favorite, Kahira argan oil, in particular is that it has a dropper to help you apply the right amount of oil on your skin. This can help your skin to not look too oily and distributes enough product so that it can look like a natural glow. If you’re prone to breakouts, you may want to skip the oils and try an acne-safe moisturizer or serum such as Stacked Skincare EGF Activating Serum (which also heals and brightens), Emme Diane’s Hydraluxe Cream (an acne-safe cream for dry or dehydrated skin), or a Stacked Skincare’s Hyaluronic Acid Serum (which moisturizes without adding oils).

These cruelty free beauty products can help you have that healthy glow without makeup this summer. Having great skin during the summer is all about preventing sunburn by using a sunset oil, moisturizing your skin with a good quality oil or oil-free moisturizer (depending on skin type), treating your skin with a face mask, pampering your skin with a rejuvenating face scrub and soothing your skin with rosewater & glycerin.

One should avoid harsh and big particle size scrub, it can harm your skin. Remember, you should re-apply sunscreen in every 2 to 3 hour.

I am extremely prone to tanning. It is very difficult for me to protect my skin from the harsh sun. I tried many sunscreens but most of the sunscreens were not much effective on my skin. I’ll try these products. Thanks!
