How to Get Glowing Skin with Derma E Face Oils
I don’t know if you guys have noticed, but the last couple of years have been HUGE for facial oils! There’s a facial oil for every type of skin, and women (and men) of all ages are using them to get a selfie-friendly glow. Derma E is one of my go-to cruelty free skincare brands and they have come out with some face oils that I think you will love.
Before you start using face oils, you should know your skin type. If your skin is normal to dry, I think it goes without saying that oils can be VERY beneficial to moisturize and heal dry patches. If your skin is oily and tends to break out, you will need to be more careful about which types of oils you put on your skin. I know you’ve probably heard that face oils are great for oily skin, but it really depends on the oil. Some types of oil can be too heavy, and can clog pores. Don’t believe the marketing hype. But, DO test different types of oils to see how your skin reacts. The right type of oil may even send the signal to your skin to STOP making so much oil, which actually helps to regulate oily skin. I haven’t had this happen yet, but I have heard of others who have seen it happen. Regardless, the last thing you want is dull skin with dry patches from all of those acne treatments you’ve been using!
Before applying oil, I like to make sure my skin is as exfoliated as possible. If you have oily skin, you want to exfoliate to avoid getting clogged pores. If you have dry skin, you want to exfoliate to remove dry patches. No matter your skin type, exfoliation helps to tell your skin to renew itself – producing more collagen and elastin, which leads to fewer lines and brighter, smoother skin. I’m obsessed with Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub with Dead Sea Salt – it’s a SUPER fine scrub that I use to polish my skin daily. I’m also crazy about the Glycolic and Rooibos Radiance Toner. You guys know how crazy I am about glycolic acid – it’s my favorite anti-aging exfoliant. This toner has a high percentage of glycolic acid (second ingredient on the list) plus antioxidants like red tea and pcynogenol bark, and soothing ingredients like rose hips, aloe, chamomile, cucumber and allantoin.
I would say the Derma E Face Oil blends are good for all skin types, but I really do think you have to experiment and see which blends work well for you. I don’t think there’s a one size fits all when it comes to skincare. As an oily skinned girl, I use these at night to moisturize and heal. But if I had dry skin, I’d wear them under makeup too – all day, every day.
Derma E Rejuvenating Sage & Lavender Face Oil has an amazing herbal scent and packs a lot of glowing goodness into one bottle. The formula contains sunflower oil, marula oil, organic jojoba oil, organic sea buckthorn oil, coconut oil, clary sage oil, Vit E and lavender oil. There’s nothing else in the bottle – no fillers or unnatural preservatives.
Derma E Illuminating Rosehip & Cranberry Face Oil is made with sunflower seed oil, pumpkin seed oil, rosehip oil, coconut oil, cranberry seed oil, sea buckthorn oil, and Vitamin E. This one also smells so good – more of a fruity/rose vibe. Two to three drops is enough to moisturize your whole face.
Radiant Glow Face Oil is a collaboration between Derma E and natural beauty YouTuber, SunKissAlba. It’s a blend of jojoba oil, argan oil, sunflower seed oil, sea buckthorn oil, and gold mica shimmer! This one has the lightest scent, and the most GLOW. If you normally use oil under your makeup (or mixed with your makeup), this one is going to pack a more glowy punch. You won’t have glitter on your face – the mica is very fine, and blends into your skin easily. This is too much glow for my oily skin, so I prefer to use this as a body moisturizer.

I love everything about these oils except for the lavender. It’s too sensitizing for my skin. But all the oils contain such powerhouse ingredients. I agree that you need to know what oils are best for your skin type or you could encounter some problems.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub with Dead Sea Salt. I love Derma-E for their serums, but wouldn’t have dared to try this product, thinking the salt crystals might be too harsh for my skin (salt crystals are actually very hard). Knowing that they are very fine and that you use this product daily is very reassuring 😉 I too like to exfoliate regularly…
