A Cruelty-Free Beauty Subscription Service
Hi Bunnies! I was invited to review another month of LaRitzy’s cruelty-free subscription box and could not pass it up after loving everything in the July Box. For those of you not familiar with the company, Laritzy offers a monthly service that sends out a box of toxin-free, cruelty-free beauty goodies for you to try. You may be introduced to new bands you’ve never heard of, or get to finally try out a product from a favorite cruelty-free brand of yours that you just haven’t gotten around to. You get 4 to 5 items in each box, and they range from full-sized to luxury sample size. I’ve got to add that everything is worth well more than the $24.99 you pay for the box, so you’re getting a great deal to try a variety of products. So let’s take a look at what I got in this month’s box for August 2015.
Aenon’s – Sea Kelp and Rosy Clay Purifying Face Mask
My skin has been going through of a bit of a transformation over the past couple months due to pregnancy so it goes from completely broken out and oily, to dry and peeling in other areas. This mask is formulated for dry/sensitive skin types, so I tested it out on just a few areas of my face while skipping the oily t-zone and chin. Norwegian sea kelp and rose clay work together to cleanse the skin while coconut milk softens the appearance of fine lines. The packet was intended for a single use, but if you don’t plan on a full-face treatment like myself, you can split it into two treatments. This packet retails for $4 alone on the Aenon’s site.
Ms. Betty’s Original – Bad-Ass Bitch Balm
Ok, does this not have the most awesome name ever for a lip balm? Just the name alone makes you want to check it out! Ms. Betty’s specializes in soy candles, but also makes a variety of body butters, lip balms and cards for any sentiment you want to send to a friend or loved one. I was sent the grapefruit version of their lip balm (the other choice being peppermint) and loved the tart scent of it straight out of the tube. Made with beeswax, coconut oil, and organic shea butter, this lip balm keeps lips smooth and seals in moisture. I’ll be keeping this lip balm by my computer to swipe on throughout the day as I lick it off. Ms Betty’s lip balm retails for $4 each in their Etsy shop.
French Girl Organics – Sea Spray
French Girl Organics prides itself as a family owned business that makes skincare products from formulas passed down through their family. All without worrisome parabens, sulfates, mineral oils, phthalates or fragrance oils. The hair volumizer sea salt spray is vegan by the way, and comes in three different versions ( Rose/Ylang, Jasmine/Neroli,Lavende/Romarin) and in two sizes to fit your needs. I was sent the rose/ylang and absolutely love the light, floral delicate scent of the spray. You will need to shake up the bottle before use as the salts used in the formula due settle after a while. Just spritz all over damp hair after shampooing in the shower and scrunch away. My hair is pretty stick straight so scrunching usually ends up as a mild wave in my hair. It’s gives just a hint of body to my long, fine hair, and I intend to try it by spritzing and pulling my hair into a top knot/ bun overnight (per their suggestion) to see how well that works for me. The 2 fl oz bottle I received is valued at $12.00 per bottle. I think I need to revisit their shop and possibly get their solid perfume or facial polish, they look divine!
Oteavea – Body Scrub
I have been following Otavea for quite sometime on Instagram and have been interested in checking out their scrubs for a while. They specialize in hand-crafted body scrubs for both men and women in a variety of targeted skincare issue versions to fit your personal needs. Clogged pores, cellulite, uneven skintone, and scarring to name a few. I got strawberry which helps unclog pores (thank you Otavea, my pregnancy skin thanks you!). To my surprize, I thought it was just scented with strawberry oils, but when I opened up the container there are true bits of strawberry in this sugar scrub that make it smell oh so yummy! Sugar scrubs are the way to my skin’s heart and can be used pretty much all over my body to smooth, soften, and make the shower more fun. Otavea sugar scrubs come in three sizes, with the 8 oz I received being valued at $16 a jar.
Carriage44 – Natural Soap
Carraige44 is a brand completely new to me, which is why Laritzy is so great at introducing us beauty lovers to new brands to explore. All handmade in small batches, Canadian based Carriage44 offers soaps (liquid and bar), candles, and assorted skincare products. I received the mud soap bar (their most popular soap in their store) with its dead sea mud and loofah formula that purifies and exfoliates the skin. Suitable for face or body, this bar soap has a beautiful pine tree/ tea tree oil scent scent to it. Unfortunately, this soap has an essential oil in it that I don’t feel is safe for me during pregnancy so I’ll be passing this onto a friend to try instead. Wish I got the oatmeal which sounds awesome! This bar of soap retails for $8.50 in their online shop.
Overall, I am very pleased with all the items sent to me, with the lip balm and otavea body scrub being my top favorites! And if you add up everything I got, you’d see that the value is almost double what you pay for the box! If you’d like to find out more about LaRitzy, you should definitely visit their website and then be sure to follow them on their social media pages: Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter! Their instagram page usually gives sneak peeks of what’s to come in future boxes so stay tuned! I’m spotting Trustfund Beauty which looks like an awesome nail polish brand to try!
