New Skincare Treatments from Physicians Formula
I thought you guys would want to know – one of your favorite cruelty free drugstore brands has launched some new goodies! Physicians Formula is at it again with some new additions to their cruelty free skincare line. Like the skincare that was launched last Spring, the new products are very effective, hypoallergenic, vegan, come in gorgeous packaging (perfect for gift-giving) and are ohhhh-so-affordable!
The Perfect Matcha 3-In-One Melting Cleansing Balm ($12.95) – Let’s start with the new Physicians Formula cleansing balm. This is a thick balm with a mint green tint and a light, refreshing green tea scent. To use, rub a small amount between your fingers and apply to a dry face. You want to start without water. Rub in small circles to remove oil, dirt and makeup. You can rinse with water or a dry cloth. If you have dry skin, this may be all you need. If you have oily or acneic skin, you might want to do a double cleanse and follow up with an oil-free cleanser.
Like attracts like, so using an oil-based cleansing balm like this one to cleanse your face will pull out all that grease, so you can wash it away. It also melts down makeup (especially long wear eye makeup, foundation and lipstick) so you won’t need to risk damaging your skin by scrubbing it off. You’d be amazed at how much makeup and natural oil stays on your face if you don’t do a double cleanse. I like to use toner or micellar water on a cotton pad after cleansing. If I do a double cleanse, the pad is usually clean. If not, there’s usually quite a bit of makeup and gunk left over. Don’t believe me? You can test it out for yourself! The Perfect Matcha Cleansing Balm is also packed with antioxidants from ingredients like green tea (matcha), bamboo shoots and lotus extract.
Coconut Milk Eye Makeup Remover ($5.95) – You can spend hours watching YouTube videos to get the perfect cut crease and cat eye, but at the end of the day you’ll need a good makeup remover to take it off! Physicians Formula Coconut Milk Eye Makeup Remover is an affordable and easy way to say goodbye to your eye makeup at night.
A little bit goes a long way, so you only need a pea-sized amount. You can apply directly to your eyes from your fingertips or use a cotton pad. Rinse with warm water when your’e done. As I mentioned, like attracts like, so the oils in this product will remove even the most stubborn eyeliner, eyeshadow and mascara.
Skin Booster Vitamin Shots ($12.95 each) – I love a good skin serum! Serums are quite thin and packed with anti-aging and skin restorative ingredients. They are designed to be applied to your face before any heavy moisturizers or night masks. Physicians Formula Skin Booster Vitamin Shots come in three varieties. The Time-Restoring Vitamin Shot is for tightening, dullness, wrinkles and general anti-aging, formulated with Vitamin A, red algae and vegan collagen amino acids. The Brightening Vitamin Shot is made with Vitamin C, licorice root and Vitamin B3 – perfect for hyperpigmentation, acne scars and other dark spots. The Hydrating Vitamin Shot is great for dry or sensitive skin (and perfect for the winter time) – it’s made with hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, vegan collagen, calcium alginate (for faster skin healing) and Vitamin E.
These serums have VERY light fresh scents, are very thin, and won’t leave behind any oils (no greasy feeling). If you’re thinking all of these skin serums sound amazing, you can even layer them for extra skincare benefits. And one more thing – you really shouldn’t buy your skincare based on packaging, but if the ingredients are good and the price is right, pretty packaging can’t hurt. These Skin Booster Vitamin Shots come in gorgeous glass bottles and the active ingredients are encapsulated into tiny spheres within the gels, so they are really pretty while sitting on your countertop!
Will you be picking up any of the new Physicians Formula skincare products? Let me know in the comments below!

Those skin boosters look SO good! I haven’t seen them up here in Canada yet, but I’m totally going to be keeping an eye out for them. 🙂 (What can I say; I’m a sucker for packaging!)
Ashleigh says
Oh man, I can’t wait to try out The Perfect Matcha! I love a good pun and a good cleansing balm – the best of both worlds ? I’m thinking about trying their brightening serum too. Thanks for the review!
Claudia Materdomini says
The hydrating vitamin shot sounds like something I would love!
Erika says
I would love to try all of these. Cleansing balms are everything for my dry skin and serums are steps (yes, I said steps, I layer them!) that I never skip. Plus, the packaging is so pretty and looks high end. It would look so good on my dressing table.
Ehmkay Nails says
The coconut milk eye makeup remover sounds awesome. Wonder if it’s okay for lipstick removal too.

I’m interested in every single one of these new products. Does Physicians Formula have new owners? It’s like everything is changing and is so appealing! Well done PF!
MarciaF says
I can’t believe how PF has grown. It’s interesting that they are in the skincare game too. The eye makeup remover sounds the most interesting to me.
Cindy Ingalls says
I want to try all the serums!
Kathryne says
The serums remind me of a pricier brand. They look like candies!
Laura says
Wow, I clearly haven’t been paying enough attention to PF. These look so great! Especially the serums.

I want to try out those skin boosters! I like being able to “enhance” things I already use

That Matcha Melting Cleansing Balm looks amazing to me!

I didn’t know PF were doing skincare – very interesting! Temptalia had an article earlier this week about how more brands would soon be moving into skincare because of the difficulties in sustaining makeup sales. Those Vitamin Booster Shots look lovely; they remind me of a couple of Korean products.

Really?? It seems like the skincare market is so oversaturated already! But I’ve definitely seen many makeup brands branching out into skincare. Most are not successful in creating good products – only ones in pretty packaging IMHO. But I really do like these PF Vitamin Shots and makeup removers and I recommend them highly.
chiefbunny says
I don’t think so – I think they are just stepping up their game!
25 Sweetpeas says
I’ve not seen items like this from them! Looks interesting!

I see this product a lot but have never tried it. The makeup remover looks like something I’d use!
Krystal E says
I love the vitamin shots just for the bottles alone! I haven’t seen much from them in my local stores but I’ll have to go check again!
Cynthia Baughman says
Oh my. I am looking for some new skin care that’s reasonable and effective, to take on an extended trip to the northwest. I am going to have to try a few of these!!!
Polarbelle says
The cleansing balm sounds like it might be a more affordable alternative to the one by Farmacy that I got in October”s Boxycharm. If so, I’m totally in!
Miki says
Just thought I’d mention that the links are taking me to Wet N Wild.
Chelsea says
I’ve been looking for a reliable serum that doesn’t leave a greasy feeling. The Vitamin Shots all sound perfect. I’m going to look into them and try one out!
chiefbunny says
Hi Miki – That’s weird! I just checked all the links and they are all pointing to Physicians Formula’s website on my end. Can you tell me which link you clicked on so I can troubleshoot further?
Andras says
I’ve never heard of this brand but i’ll definitely try it. 🙂
