You don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars or waste countless hours trying to beat oily skin this summer. In fact, you can easily beat it – or at least give a good fight – by simply incorporating some very basic things into your skin care regimen. Ready to find out what those things are?
1- Pick A Non-Comedogenic, Oil-Free, Cruelty-Free Foundation
If you don’t have a fantastic foundation, then you cannot expect to beat oily skin this summer. In fact, you should always pick the best makeup for oily skin, but your foundation (which sits directly on your face at all times) should be picked with extra care. For starters, you should remember to read the box, bottle, or tube of whatever you plan to purchase. Ensure that it is cruelty-free, because you will be helping out in the fight against animal cruelty. While you are reading the label, you should also make sure the foundation is oil-free and non-comedogenic. Non-comedogenic literally means that it will not clog your pores, and acne (caused by clog pores) is a major issue with oily skin types. One fantastic foundation is called Wet N’Wild Coverall, which is similar to MAC but is totally cruelty-free.
2- Put Food On Your Face
Instead of buying expensive products that may or may not work, try making masks and spot-treatments out of the food you have in your kitchen. There are plenty of things that you can use to make your skin look beautiful, but some of the most popular treatments include: egg whites, honey, avocado, lemon juice, and pomegranate. You can mix any of these ingredients with a bit of sugar or all-natural oats to create a fabulous exfoliator. Although you will need to use a gentle acne wash once or twice a day and a moisturizer as needed, you can use food to create the rest of your facial routine.
3- Keep A Routine That Works
Perseverance is key, and this means you must always keep up a routine you find works for you and your individual skin issues. There are a few things that all people must incorporate into their skin care routine, however. This includes the use of a gentle acne wash at least once a day (right before bed), and a moisturizer directly after washing. Yes, even with oily skin. Other items you may want to add include spot-treatments, exfoliating, masks, and anti-aging treatments. Making sure you stay hydrated, eat healthy, and get plenty of exercise are also very important.
So if you want to beat oily skin and the issues that go with it this summer, make sure you use these three easy DIY tips! Not only will you beat oily skin this summer, but you will also see a marked improvement in your all-year-round skin. If you have any questions about what we’ve said here today, or if you’d like to offer up some of your own DIY tips for beating oily skin, please feel free to tell us about it in the comments below. We look forward to hearing what you have to say.

I normally stick to mostly natural products if I can, often using anything food related. Sometimes I do come across really good branded products that only use organic ingredients. Although, i must say I do experiment a little with some of the main brands as well.
Just can’t help myself when it comes to beauty products in general!! 🙂

Could someone please answer a question for me? How is Wet N’ Wild a cruelty-free company if they are manufactured in China? I am going through all of my makeup throwing things away and just got rid of some of their products because they are from China, where it is my understanding that animal testing is mandatory.

My skin ALWAYS gets so oily, especially here in Texas. Thanks for these tips… most of which I already do, though! Except the food on face… I’ve been wanting to try egg whites. I heard you can get burnt, also and put egg whites right on it and it will heal better/faster!
