Cruelty Free Prolong Lash Eyelash Extension Cleanser is my favorite lash extension cleanser!
I wear eyelash extensions frequently because I love the way they open up my down-turned, hooded eyes. I heard that “puppy dog eyes” were a trend recently and I laughed because I already have those! I’m always trying to open them up. Instant eye lift!
But, in truth, they can be a pain to take care of until you get used to it. You have to find a good person to apply them. Someone who is clean, fully trained and uses the right products. I’ve had some miserable experiences with certain glues. I’ve been going to Stacy Lash on Beverly and Ogden in Los Angeles, and I’ve had a great experience. She uses thin, synthetic lashes. I save the va va va voom lashes for special occasions, so that my lashes don’t break off from the weight.
Anyway, one thing you should know about extensions is that you can’t use anything oil-based on or near them. Oil will make them come off. No oily makeup or mascara (really you don’t NEED mascara anyway). And, no oil-based cleansers. I have tried some foam cleansers that were designed for lash extensions and they did nothing to actually clean my lashes and my eye makeup.
Then I tried Prolong Lash – a cruelty free, vegan product from Australia. Wow – this was what I was looking for. It’s a light cleanser that I can use to gently cleanse my lashes and take off makeup. It’s pretty amazing considering the others I’ve tried!
It’s naturally pH balanced, not tested on animals, no SLS, and oil-free. It’s made with rose, grapefruit and gentle cleansers. You get 100 ml and you only need a few drops to clean your eyes. I’ve been using more than that because I forget (doh!) and I still have tons left. They recommend you cleanse your lashes morning and night to keep them protein free. Simply roll the cleanser onto the lashes (carefully!), rinse well and pat dry. You can even use a hairdryer on the cool setting to really get them dry. Then use a clean lash brush to brush them out.
If you cry for any reason, you get a salty build up, and protein can collect on your lashes on a daily basis. Using this cleanser can make your (expensive) lashes last longer, and keep them clean. I’m a huge fan, and I highly recommend this lash cleanser.
They also sell products for professional lash extension stylists, and they have training courses. You fan follow them on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to keep up with this sales and info!
